God showed up when the LEADERS repented for their programs and structures - and God did some amazing work cleaning up the drug problem. On that issue a great fire started burning! But God sent Doug Perry to Manchester, Kentucky a year or so later to urge them to not just repent for the drug problem, but repent for their faction, division, denominationalism within the Body of Christ and THEN see how much God showed up!

By the early 2000s, vicious feuds, crushing poverty, pervasive corruption, and epic drug abuse were so prevalent in eastern Kentucky that any family that could was fleeing to greener pastures. Those who stayed behind fought a running battle with hopelessness as illicit drugs threatened to consume an entire generation. And then it happened. As a desperate band of believers cried “Enough!” the Presence of God descended on the town of Manchester, and transformed it into the City of Hope.
