ISAIAH 9:8-13
8 The Lord has sent a message against Jacob;
it will fall on Israel.

10 “The bricks have fallen down,
but we will rebuild with dressed stone;
the fig trees have been felled,
but we will replace them with cedars.”
11 But the LORD has strengthened Rezin’s foes against them
and has spurred their enemies on.
12 Arameans from the east and Philistines from the west
have devoured Israel with open mouth. Yet for all this, his anger is not turned away,
his hand is still upraised.13 But the people have not returned to him who struck them,
nor have they sought the LORD Almighty.

· Israel had back slidden, turned from God. God sent a warning through an incursion across Israel’s border by the Assyrians. They dealt Israel a humiliating blow.
· Israel responded not by repentance and turning to God but by defiance

· "A harbinger is a sign, an omen, or a foreshadow of something that is yet to come. It is an ominous warning of judgment that is coming.
The following are prophetic words given to Jonathan Cahn.....

1. THE FALLEN BRICKS

The newspapers rolled: “Acts of War,” “A Day of Infamy,” “Who did this?” “Terror’s Toll,” “Nightmare,” “Freedom Under Siege,” “Under Attack,” “Second Pearl Harbor,” “The Day That Changed The World.”

There has been no event that has touched the United States and the world more indomitably than the attacks of September 11th, 2001. As the images of the smoke, dust and death gorged the airwaves, the descriptions of devastation penetrated every media source.

Only sources with archives of the devastation of World War II had comparable images. Berlin, London, Nagasaki, Kassel, Hiroshima, Dresden, Rouen, Naples. Images of earlier holocausts. These cities today, a generation later, reveal little of their broken past, their fallen bricks. But the bricks of Ground Zero in Manhattan were reduced to ash, with little more than dust and metal to recover. Is there a different message in these fallen bricks?

2.WE WILL BUILD
On Wednesday, September 12, 2001, as a transfixed nation and world waited and wondered. Expectation was high for answers and outrage: it came in through the airwaves in the Joint Response of the Nation on the Senate floor in Washington, DC. Representing the Congress and the nation and by authority as majority leader, Senator Tom Daschle addressed the world.
Senator Daschle the morning of September 12th, 2001 can be read as they had been spoken:

“Mr. President, it is with pain, sorrow, anger, and resolve that I stand before this Senate, a symbol for 212 years of the strength of our democracy, and say that America will emerge from this tragedy, as we have emerged from all adversity, united and strong…

….The world should know that the Members of both parties in both Houses stand united. The full resources of our Government will be brought to bear in aiding the search and rescue and in hunting down those responsible and those who may have aided or harbored them.

Nothing, nothing can replace the losses that have been suffered. I know there is only the smallest measure of inspiration that can be taken from this devastation. But there is a passage in the Bible, from Isaiah, that I think speaks to all of us at times such as this:

The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with dressed stone; the fig trees have been felled, but we will replace them with cedars. That is what we will do. We will rebuild and we will recover. The people of America will stand strong together because the people of America have always stood together. And those of us privileged to serve this great Nation will stand with you.” 

If there are any acceptable uses for a misapplication of Scripture, it is clear from the text that Isaiah 9 is not one. The heart of the message speaks specifically to the consequences of an improper response to a first judicial incursion. The illustration is a rebuke for lace of contrition and pompousness of will.
Of over 31,000 verses in Scripture, the Isaiah 9:10 verse would become, for those in governmental authority, the flagship verse of the Nation and be specifically spoken by four other prominent politicians [that are in public record and related to this event].
In the years following the 2001 event, each of the five leaders in the line of Presidential Succession for the former and current administrations would follow the resolve of the majority leader’s precedent with a pledge to rebuild from this event, apparently unaware of Isaiah 5.

3. BIGGER AND BETTER
On the day of the 911 tragedy, Rudy Guiliani, the mayor of New York City punctuated the resolve of the city. "We will rebuild: We're going to come out of this stronger than before, politically stronger, economically stronger. The skyline will be made whole again."
Seton Hall University Professor A.D. Amar - “America will rise out of it. We will build new Towers, larger than the ones we lost to these cowards.”

4. THE HEWN STONE

The first stone to be used in the construction of the 1,176 ft. Freedom Tower was hewn from New York granite and lowered by crane in a ceremony on July 4, 2004.
Governor George Pataki of New York presided:
"Today is indeed, a momentous day. Today we take 20 tons of Adirondack granite - the bedrock of our State - and place it as the foundation, the bedrock of a new symbol of American strength and confidence. Today, we lay the cornerstone for a new symbol of this city and this country and of our resolve in the face of terror. Today we build the Freedom Tower.” 

5. A SPIRIT OF DEFIANCE

Repeatedly Scripture and commentaries record defiance as the highest insult against the Most High God. Senator John Kerry, in his statement before the United States Senate on Wednesday, September 12, 2001 remarked:

“…And I believe one of the first things we should commit to - with federal help that underscores our nation's purpose – is to rebuild the towers of the World Trade Center and show the world we are not afraid - we are defiant.”

On the day the cornerstone was laid, then New York Governor, George Pataki again insisted:
“Today, we the heirs of that revolutionary spirit of defiance, lay this cornerstone.”

6. THE SYCAMORE

The Bible records the sycamore tree as being a sign of judgment. It even says in Egypt the sycamore tree was struck down as a sign of judgment.
On September 11th, a freak event happened in the devastation: a steel beam from the North Tower was hurled from the sky. As the Tower fell, it went through the air and struck down an object: it was a tree.
The next day [when] the people returned to Ground Zero, they found a tree lying on the ground, pierced by the beam of a falling Tower. There, at Ground Zero was a sycamore tree – struck town…after the tree of Isaiah 9…a harbinger of judgment…’the sycamore has fallen’…
…and strange, eerily, the people made a display of it, not realizing what it was in the Bible… and put it on display, its roots exposed…not realizing, as if to draw more attention to the sign. And a sculptor was commissioned to make a cast of it. He poured metal into the cast: he cast it into bronze, the Biblical metal of judgment…an image of the fallen sycamore to be displayed on Wall Street.

The significance of the bronze sycamore root sculpture is chilling. In May, 1792, twenty-four stock brokers met underneath a sycamore tree on Wall Street in New York City. The Buttonwood Agreement would be birthed as the golden calf of commerce, the bull of the New York Stock Exchange, but would be delivered, uprooted and cast in bronze.
This memorial on Wall Street would come to represent the riches of a nation uprooted, overturned, judged and displayed in bronze:

7. THE CEDAR

On the same Ground Zero, you had three [physical SIGNS] of the harbingers. But there’s one more, there is the cedar tree, the seventh harbinger is the cedar tree, the arez tree….’the sycamores are fallen but we will put cedars in their place...’

…Two years after September 11th …a strange site was seen on Ground Zero, a crane, a different crane, was lowering a different object… the object was being lowered to a place where there had been a hole in the ground, it was being laid over the place where the fallen sycamore tree had been struck down...It would have been natural to replace the sycamore tree with a sycamore tree, but the Scripture says ‘we will replace it with an arez [cedar] tree…The object lowered was an arez tree, a conifer tree, the same as the cedar of Lebanon…

8. THE VOW OF ARROGANCE: IMPENDING JUDGMENT

The words of the rulers in the wake of destruction.
At the end of November of 2003, the tree came down to replace the sycamore. Seven months later, the quarried stone came down on the ruins of Ground Zero…..two months after that was complete, there was a Presidential election and the Democratic candidate for Vice President was John Edwards.
He was speaking in Washington DC at a gathering, it was September 11th, the third anniversary of the devastation. And since it was a prayer breakfast he chose a Scripture which he linked to the events of September 11th. These now are his words on September 11th [of 2004]. Listen: Washington DC.

“Good morning. Today on this day of remembrance and mourning, we have the Lord’s Word: [Listen]
‘The bricks have fallen, but we will build - with dressed stones:
the sycamores have been cut down, but we will put cedars in their place….’

Of all the thousands of Scriptures he could have chosen, he chose this one obscure verse from Isaiah, which even most Believers don’t know, not realizing what he was saying: it was a Scripture of judgment – marking it, he linked it to September 11th and said that it was the Lord’s Word to us…. not knowing this, [he] then he based the whole speech on this scripture. He goes on to say:

“Let me show you how we are building and putting cedars in those three hallowed places, the Towers, the Pentagon and the Field. Walk with me through this day and you will see that while those bricks fell and the sycamores cut down, our people are making those cedars rise.”

And he closed with,
“Each time that bell tolls it calls us to a greater purpose. To never forget: it calls us to always remember that when we walk together this day that the cedars will rise and the stones will go up.”

More to the Story!!

The specificity of these parallel harbingers is profound and should surpass any standard of plausibility. But there is yet more. The response to the nation by Senator Tom Daschle on September 12th, 2001 reveals another, far more disturbing reference.

“It’s with pain, sorrow, anger and resolve that I stand before this Senate, a symbol for 212 years of the strength of our democracy.”

At the time, few listening would have challenged the apparent inconsistency: 212 years before 2001 would have been 1789, our national documents record July 4th 1776 as being the birth of the nation.

America was born as a fully formed nation on April 30th, 1789. On that day, for the first time, America had a Constitution, a House of Representatives and a President together. It was the birth of the United States as a fully formed, constituted nation.

On that day, the government, the House, the Senate and the President all gathered in the Capital together, it was the Inauguration of George Washington. It was the nation’s Dedication Day.

Washington gave a prophetic warning. He said this:

“We ought to be no less persuaded that the propitious smiles of heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and the right which heaven itself has ordained.”

The warning was, [that] America’s future blessing would be, as with Israel, will hang on its relationship to God. If America should begin to depart from God, its blessings its prosperity and its protection shall be lifted up.

The warning was given on the Nation’s first day, its day of dedication. After finishing the address and giving his warning, the first act of the American government was undertaken. It was this:

After the address, Washington, and all the other officials, the Senators, the House of Representatives, the Vice President, all left the place of Inauguration, travelled on foot to a small church, a chapel, they went inside…and we don’t know exactly what they said there, we know they were there for one purpose. For two hours they prayed, they committed, they consecrated this nation into God’s hands. The entire government was kneeling before God.

In ancient Israel, when judgment came, it came to the place where the nation was dedicated to God - the Temple Mount where Solomon had dedicated it. America, like ancient Israel, also departed from its foundations: it sought the prosperity instead of the One who gave it. The warning of Washington on that day: there would be the removal of God’s blessings if that happened.

So there was a day that epitomized to God’s people the first tolling of that removal, and that, without a doubt, was the 11th of September, 2001…

…the key is: Where is America’s ground of consecration? Where was America was dedicated to God? The first inauguration did not take place in Washington DC…[not] Washington at all - or Philadelphia. The first Capital of the United States was New York City.

It was there America began as a nation, it was there that the warning of judgment was given on the first day. Not just New York City, but lower Manhattan ... everything just described took place in New York City, in the southern part, [Washington’s] statue overlooking Wall Street.

After he gave his warning, he led the government on a journey, to a place to dedicate the nation….a little chapel – there, they dedicated it to God. It would be here, according to the pattern, [that] we would see the beginning of judgment: this consecration ground.

America, on its day of its birth as a nation was dedicated to God at the corner of a plot of land known as Ground Zero. Ground Zero is the ‘mystery place’ of American history.’ It was right there at the corner of Ground Zero they all prayed. The terrorists had no idea they were touching the very place America was dedicated and where God’s favor and protection were prayed for, the very place linked to the warning of Washington that day, that would be lifted.

…The spiritual birthplace of America is the corner of Ground Zero….the place where George Washington was, and knelt on the day of its birth. America’s national seal, the depiction of its power: the Eagle with the arrows and shield and olive branches: this earliest depiction was kept - not kept in the White House, not in the Pentagon. It was the sign of its protection. It is kept in a chapel that still remains standing to this day.

The words on the plaque above Washington’s Pew in St. Paul’s Chapel:

‘Almighty God, we make our earnest prayer that you will keep the United States in Holy protection.”

And in that place is where that protection was lifted. As for ancient Israel, the bricks have fallen, we will rebuild, in fact, it says, the sycamore trees have been struck down: the sycamore, the 6th harbinger, where was it, where did it stand? It all happened on that very same ground where America was consecrated to God. Where in that place, is where the sycamore grew, in the back yard of the chapel in the graveyard. And where that arez tree, that pine tree, came to replace it, it was lowered into America’s consecration ground. The signs of judgment have been all there.

And yet Washington’s prayer was also fulfilled as well as his warning. In the wake of 911, all of the buildings around ground zero were badly damaged except one: they called it the “Miracle of Ground Zero:” the little chapel where America was dedicated to God.

In the cloud of destruction that covered Manhattan, that covered the chapel…this one building was protected, where America was dedicated to God…and what they believe protected it was a tree, a sycamore tree: the Biblical sign of the beginning of judgment: also a sign of the mercy of God. For as the steel beam went through the sky, the only thing blocking it from the chapel was the sycamore tree…the very place George Washington knelt was Ground Zero.

Judgment or salvation? Which will it be for America? Well, it could be both…we see all the same harbingers as with ancient Israel. Isaiah 9:10 before America on 9/11. Because they have not turned to Him, he will bring a greater judgment on the land. The ultimate purpose was not to destroy, but to call it back.

John Waller was one of the most powerful preachers in 18th Century Virginia.
He led one of the greatest revivals in the history of that state. However, before his
conversion, his capability in profanity earned him the title of "Swearin' Jack." He could out swear
and outfight any man in his day. He had a deep hatred for the Methodist
circuit riding his preachers and delighted in harassing them. After becoming a
Christian, his abilities, energy and talents focused into preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and
pointing out the errors of the dominant religious system of the time. This
attracted the attention of the religious and civil authorities. In colonial Virginia, only
those who were ordained by the state church (the Anglican Church) were permitted to preach.
All other preaching was prohibited by law and disobedience to this law was punishable by
imprisonment, beatings and stiff fines. God called John to preach His
Word. As a result, he spent a total of one hundred and thirteen days in four different
county jails for preaching. Waller also endured severe physical abuse.

John Waller gave the following account of one such attack that took place in Caroline County, Virginia, during a worship service in a home: While he was singing, the priest of the parish attacked him and would keep shoving  the end of his horse whip in John's mouth, laying his whip across the hymn book, etc. After he finished singing, Waller proceeded to pray. Suddenly, he was violently jerked off of the stage by the magistrate and the parish priest. Catching him by the back part of his neck, they violently beat his head against the ground. Afterwards, he was mercilessly beaten with twenty lashes with a horse whip.
The parish priest came up, cursed at him, and then warned him not to preach anymore.
When Brother Waller was released, he went back singing and praising God, and then
mounted the stage and preached with a great deal of liberty. Covered with  his own blood, he boldly proclaimed the Word of God.

Another time while he was preaching, a huge fellow pulled him down and dragged him about by his hair. A second, as stout as the first, ran to rescue Waller. One took hold of one hand and the other of the other hand so that between friend and foe, poor Waller was about to lose both arms. The hurt remained with him for many weeks. On November 8, 1793, he moved to the state of South Carolina. John Waller's daughter had married Elder Abraham Marshall, a Baptist evangelist and son of the well-known preacher and church planter, Daniel Marshall. Some speculate that she was Waller's favorite daughter and he desired to be near them. Also, good land could be purchased cheaply there, and he felt that his labors had come to an end in Virginia. Waller's work in his new home was blessed as he helped to establish two churches, but his ministry never had the impact of his ministry in Virginia. He preached thirty-five years, baptized more than two thousand persons, assisted in ordaining twenty-seven ministers and in constituting eighteen churches. The revivals that he led in Virginia had great  reforming impact on the very culture of that state. His last sermon, at
the funeral of a young man, was taken from Zechariah 2:4,
"Run, speak to this young man." He addressed the young in feeble, touching strains, saying that it was his last sermon. He spoke until his strength failed and then tottered to a bed from which he was carried to his house. He died July 4, 1802, in his sixty-second year. John Waller represents the men and women who paid a dear price for religious liberty. He carried the scars of his scourging to his grave, which is located in the Waller- Hackett family burial ground in Abbeville County, near Greenwood, South Carolina. My friend B.J. Isaacs and I found this abandoned cemetery in the woods. We walked over to the forgotten grave of this mighty soldier of the Cross and gave thanks to God for the life and ministry of a great hero of the faith.

Would you think that a rank sinner would say, “Lord, Lord”? Could you see a New Ager, a Mormon, a Satanist saying this? The fact it is said twice, is done to be emphatic. Christ would say from time to time, “Verily, verily, I say to you…” He repeated himself to make a point that He meant business. It would be like someone saying, “Look at me, look at me please.” The person would be compelled to look, wouldn’t he? So who are these people who say so emphatically, “Lord, Lord…”? I would like to present to you that they are “Christians”, or at least that’s what they were led to believe, anyway.

Let’s read on.



“…have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?”

See? These poor souls went through their lives doing “good deeds” for Christ. They prophesied, they cast out demons and they did many wonderful works all in the name of Christ.

Did it matter? What did Jesus respond with?

“…And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

Wow! Imagine being a “Christian”, going through your life, going to church, being the head chair stacker, ten or twelve Bibles in your home, gone to seminary, casting out demons all over the place, prophesying, doing, doing, doing…then you’re faced with this.

“Depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.”

The most amazing thing that I read here is further down.

“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man…”

But weren’t those above doing good works for Christ? Here He says He will liken you who hear His sayings and do them to a wise man. So what’s going on here? First Jesus condemns those to hell who do good works in His name, then He commends those who hear His words and does them.

Am I missing something here?

I sat here looking at this passage for some time and then something popped out at me:

“I never knew you…”

What does the word ‘knew‘ mean?

Is it safe to say that we can relate Jesus knowing you as a man would know his wife? What would this entail? Every facet, every detail, every thing in her life, he would know intimately. Everything without one iota left out. Can you say this about Jesus? It’s a two way street you know. As a husband sets out to know his wife, so does the wife set out to know him. How is this accomplished? By researching through books, articles and watching videos? By doing online searches? By asking others about him? No. By actually spending time in his presence and soaking him up. She lingers in his presence, enjoying him, reveling in him, watching him, studying him, getting to know him. Do you do this with Jesus? Do you spend time with Him like this? Do you run to His side in the morning? Or do you run to a foreigner’s side? If Jesus came back right now, would he find you in the throws of passion with another? Spiritually speaking of course. Jesus is coming back for His bride, and if He comes back to a woman who has been in the sack with every Tom, Dick and Henry around, He will be quite safe in saying, “I never knew you…”

Think about it…your eternity’s at stake.

In 1981, the former chief rabbi of Jerusalem and two other rabbis tunneled under the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.  They discovered an underground room not far from where the Holy of Holies once stood.  Entering into this room, the rabbis were astonished to discover relics of the First Temple such as the Table of Show Bread, temple vessels and most importantly the Ark of the Covenant. 

 The Ark had been taken to this hidden room by the Prophet Jeremiah shortly before the fall of Jerusalem to the Babylonians 2,500 years ago.  

The rabbis are awaiting the rebuilding of the Third Temple, which many orthodox Jews believe is imminent.  Upon completion of the Temple, the Ark will be brought out and placed in the Holy of Holies again.

During great awakenings and historic revivals, Heavenly choirs have joined in with the  people of God to worship the Lord. During the Hebrides Awakening of 1947, Rev. Duncan Campbell and others were crossing the moors to minister to a nearby village. Suddenly, the heavens were filled with the voices of angels singing. The group dropped to their knees in great reverence and worshiped God. A similar occurrence took place in the Azusa Street Awakening of 1907 in Los Angeles. The following are a few of the exciting historical accounts of the angelic choirs responding to the divine move of God on earth.

INDIA:

I sat enthralled as a humble Indian man addressed a large congregation in Adelaide, South Australia. Rev. Larno Longchar was describing an amazing revival sweeping the length and breadth of his home state of Nagaland. His local church alone now had 15,000 members. Four times in one year its building had to be extended to accommodate those who were being saved.
The 'outpouring' began in 1976 after the 'Baptist' churches in Nagaland had kept their pledge to pray for revival. Their twenty-four-hour-a-day prayer chain had continued unbroken for an entire year.
As a direct result of the revival, the state's smoking, drinking, cinema attendance, divorce and suicide rates all dramatically fell. A flabbergasted magistrate reported that in six months only one criminal case had appeared before his city's courts. Repentance was so widespread and genuine that precautions like locking houses became quite unnecessary. Former Hindus and head-hunters joined the ranks of fervent Christians confessing their sins and praying for hours at a time.
I could detect no boasting in Rev. Longchar's address. He spoke of himself surprisingly little. A major recurring theme was that there was nothing unique about his state's experience. He insisted that we could have the same type of revival.
The following is a slightly condensed transcript of part of the message I heard on March 8, 1981. (Used by permission) The incident described would have occurred no more than five years previous. Rev. Longchar told us:
'In one of the district capitals, near Burma, we had [a] revival meeting for four days. There were 35,000 people in a crusade.
'One of our friends was preaching. God used him in a very wonderful way that morning. About 10,000 people rushed to the pulpit to confess their sins - to acknowledge the lordship of Jesus Christ in their hearts. There was a deep confession of sin going on. Rev. Longchar's description of the angelic singing as 'so lovely' should not be taken lightly. After visiting Nagaland, Pastor Des Short, of New Zealand, described the Naga people as 'exceptionally musical.' He claimed that, in marked contrast to western people, the majority of Naga people are born with perfect pitch. Even children at play sing in four-part harmony.

WALES:

Commencing at Beddgelert in 1817, a powerful move of God resulted in the salvation of multiplied thousands of Welsh people. From the midst of this move comes a report of people transfixed by what seemed to be massed heavenly choirs in the air singing songs of praise. (Orr, p100)
Decades later, (1851-2) in a small Montgomeryshire village, angelic singing signalled the commencement of a local Welsh revival. It was heard by a few disheartened Christians leaving their church after a seemingly fruitless week-long series of prayer meetings for revival. The 'indistinct' (Because it was in an angelic language?) but melodious sounds seemed to come from high above the church they had just left.
Next day, they discovered that many others in the district had heard the same beautiful music. Some had even gone outside to hear it and concluded it must be angelic. No other explanation was ever found.
Soon hundreds were flocking to the churches and experiencing the prayed-for outpouring of the Spirit. (Brown and Butterworth, p391 f)

FRANCE:

A revival in 'the valleys of Dauphiny,' amongst Protestants in late Seventeenth Century France, was cited by John Wesley as proof that God acts in a supernatural way. (Wesley, vol. A new best-selling book on the hidden mysteries of the Jerusalem Temple Mount claims to have discovered the resting place of the lost Ark of the Covenant – the biblical refuge of theTenCommandments handed down to Moses at Sinai.

In"Temple at the Center of Time: Newton's Bible Codex Deciphered and the Year 2012,"by David Flynn, a book that has skyrocketed up the best-seller charts before its official release later this month, says his studies of the Temple Mount strongly suggest the Ark will be found at Mount Nebo in Jordan.

The discovery would be the greatest archeological find ever – as has been suggested in popular movies such as "Raiders of the Lost Ark."

In"Temple at the Center of Time,"Flynn makes the case that the Temple Mount, the home of the Jewish temples, was not just a place of religious worship. It is also is a roadmap to future events – a kind of prophetic landmark whose significance is only now revealed through the development of satellite imagery.

The book asserts it has "deciphered Isaac Newton’s greatest paradox: None other than 'the unified field theory' of Bible prophecy."

Sir Isaac Newton was not only a great thinker in physics, the book explains, but had extensive knowledge of the Scriptures with a special interest in prophecy. Newton believed there was a hidden code, a type of time-encrypted language. He believed the key to deciphering this code was the Temple of Solomon. He wrote extensively on the length measurements of the Temple and suggested it intersected time and dimension, serving as a prophetic and supernatural structure.

According to Flynn, although Newton never cracked this code, he was on the right track and was limited only by the lack of sophisticated satellite technology.

"The description of Jerusalem as a terrestrial centerpoint, situated in the center of the world, is found in Philo's Legatio and Gaium," Flynn notes. "The world is like a human eyeball. The white of the eye is the ocean surrounding the world, the iris is this continent, the pupil is Jerusalem, and the image in the pupil is the Holy Temple."

Many historians speculate that because Babylon destroyed the Temple of Solomon, it also removed the Ark to Babylon. There it is said the Ark was eventually destroyed along with the other artifacts from the temple, the gold melted down and set into coins for their treasury. But the Book of Daniel makes specific mention of the golden menorah from the temple of Jerusalem in the palace of Belshazzar. The Babylonian king had preserved it, a major artifact from the Jewish temple, in an attempt to demonstrate the superiority of Babylon's gods to the God of the Hebrews. That the menorah was set on display in this manner underscores how unlikely the Babylonians would have been to destroy the Ark, the greatest symbol of the God of the Hebrews.

Certain tracts of the Midot in the Jewish Talmud dealing with temple laws, practices and rituals allude to the creation of more than one Ark, the second made as a decoy to protect the original. They claim that certain articles of the temple furnishing including the true Ark remain in a secret vault underneath the temple mount in Jerusalem.

However, others discount the likelihood of the Ark being left to fate under the Temple Mount, open to any treasure hunter with the motivation to merely dig. It is difficult to explain how the location could remain secret, as Jerusalem remained open for excavation and plundering for hundreds of years after its fall to the Romans in AD 70. Motivated treasure seekers over the ensuing centuries have had ample time to excavate the area underneath the temple.

The recovery of temple treasure of Solomon was the highest goal of the Knights Templar that established their center on the Temple Mount during the crusades. 

Various Judaic sects of Ethiopia believe the Ark has been guarded and kept in the city of Axum in their country for thousands of years. The legend claims it was brought to Axum by the son of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, Prince Menelik I.

Some historians believe the Egyptians took the ark and hid it underground in the city of Tanis, the seat of Shishak’s dynasty. The location was lost over the course of history. That was the theory behind the first "Indiana Jones" movie.

But all of these theories are discounted by Flynn, who points out the Ark was a central focus of worship during the reign of King Josiah – long after the reign of Solomon.

Meanwhile, the book of 2 Maccabees 2:4 explains that before the destruction of Solomon’s temple by the Babylonians in 587 BC, the Ark was hidden by the prophet Jeremiah in a cave at the base of Mount Nebo in the Pisgah range of Jordan. Maccabees, as well as other Apocryphal works, are retained in modern Catholic bibles as well as the Septuagint and Vulgate.

The account of the Ark from 2 Maccabees is also mentioned in the Jewish Talmud, in Huriot 12A and Tractate Yoma 72a. These texts explain that the Ark's location would not be recovered until the Jews were brought back to Israel following the Diaspora, an event that occurred in 1948. The pseudopigraphic book 2 Baruch, written near the1stcentury, repeats the prophetic age in which the Ark would be recovered: "Oh earth ... guard them [the temple vessels and the Ark] until the last times, So that, when thou art ordered, thou mayst restore them, So that strangers may not get possession of them. For the time comes when Jerusalem also will be delivered for a time, until it is said, that it is again restored for ever."

The legendary accounts of Jeremiah and the Ark provide a hidden clue to its location at Mount Nebo. This is a symbolic link that exists between the names of the Babylonian king that threatened to destroy the Ark, and the mountain where it was hidden by Jeremiah. Both Nebuchadnezzar and Nebo stem from the Semitic rootnebu,meaning the god Mercury. This was also intimated in the prophecies of Ezekiel condemning Jerusalem. The name Nebuchadnezzar means "the prince of the god Mercury." The Hebrew word nebois from the rootneba("to prophesy" and also "a prophet"), writes Flynn. In the same role as the prophets of the God of Israel, Nebo was worshiped as the celestial scribe of the Assyrians, the "interpreter of the gods, and declarer of their will." 


According to the Bible , the greatest prophet of all time was Moses, which states, "And there arose not a prophet (neba) since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face." Ironically, according to the Bible, Mount Nebo was the site of the death of Moses.

The Hebrew wordsnobe, meaning "high place," andnahab,meaning "to hollow out," "gate," or "pupil of the eye," also correlate with the location for the resting place of the ark in a "hollow cave" on Mount Nebo, described in 2 Maccabees, says Flynn.

Mount Nebo is 25.20 nautical miles due East of Jerusalem – and Flynn finds significance in that distance related to his study of the Temple Mount and its mystical placement "at the center of time and space."

Before it is even officially released,"Temple at the Center of Time"is causing a sensation in some circles where it is being compared to "The Bible Code.

ARK OF THE COVENANT DISCOVERED IN JERUSALEM - PART 1

One day, in 1978, Ron Wyatt, an American Christian archaeologist , decided to go sightseeing near the Damascus Gate, in Jerusalem. Walking along an ancient stone quarry, known to some as "the Calvary Escarpment," he was talking with a local authority about Roman antiquities. Without warning, Ron's left hand pointed to a site being used as a rubbish dump and said, "That's Jeremiah's Grotto and the Ark of the Covenant is in there." Even though these words had come from his own mouth and his own hand had pointed, he had not consciously said or done these things. The man with him, quite out of character, also reacted strangely. He said, "That's wonderful! We want you to excavate, and we'll grant you your permits, put you up in a place to stay and even furnish your meals!"Ron knew that this was a supernatural event but he also knew that not all supernatural events originate from God (Revelation 16:14). So he returned home to the US, and began to research as to whether or not the Ark could be in that area. He discovered that 2Chronicles 35:3 is the last reference to the Ark of the Covenant, verse 19 tells us that this was in the year 621 BC, just 35 years before the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple by Nebuchadnezzar. It says that the Ark was in the temple at that time. When the Babylonian army besieged Jerusalem, they built a siege wall around the city, not allowing anyone or anything in or out of the city. Therefore, the Ark of the Covenant most probably remained within the Babylonian siege wall. As it was not captured by Nebuchadnezzar and taken to Babylon, we must assume that it was hidden underground. This matched perfectly with the area that Ron had pointed to, it would have been within the Babylonian siege wall, in an underground chamber. Ron and his two sons dug several times at that site, uncovering a wealth of information. They began by digging straight down, at the base of a cliff face, a cliff face known to many as Golgotha. In the 1800's General Gordon recognized that the site matched the biblical description of Calvary, the site of the crucifixion of Christ. The Bible describes a tomb hewn out of rock, in a garden nearby, it was the tomb of a rich man who donated it to Jesus (Matt. 27:57-60). In the vicinity is just that, and the tomb has been hurriedly extended, suggesting that the person that lay in it, was not the person it was designed for. The first find that they uncovered were recesses cut into the cliff face, three 'bookshelf-like' cut outs. Ron's thought was that these could be the recesses that held the signs that the Romans put above the cross of Christ. In Matthew 27:37, Mark 15:26 and Luke 23:38 the Bible says that the superscription was written "over" Jesus, which fits with what Ron found. In the book of John, the Bible says that, "a title," was "put on the cross". The Greek word for "on" is "EPI". EPI can also be translated as "over" or "above". The translators in Matthew, Mark and Luke decided to translate EPI as "over", because it would have not made sense to say that a sign was put (EPI) on his head, but in John they translated EPI to mean "on" because it would make sense to put a sign on the cross. However, they could have translated EPI to say, "a title" was "put above/over the cross". Further excavation revealed an altar stone protruding from the cliff face like a shelf. Ron felt that perhaps this was the remains of a Christian altar, suggesting that the early Christians knew that this was a place of significance. The foundation to a first century building was also uncovered, which was believed to be a church, again adding more significance to the site. At last Ron uncovered the clinching evidence that convinced him this was the site of the crucifixion. Four cross holes cut out of the rock, one higher up than the rest on a platform and set back. The other three were in a line lower down and infront. The upper cross hole would have held the 'featured' criminal, and we know from the Biblical account that the two cross holes either side held the two thieves when Christ was crucified. In this case, only three of the four cross holes were used. Using ground penetrating radar Ron detected a large round stone, thirteen feet in diameter and two feet wide. He tried to uncover it, but it was buried underneath about twenty feet of earth. He considered the strong possibility of it being a very large tombstone. Could it be the tombstone that fitted the nearby tomb? Ron went back to the tomb in the garden to see if the stone would fit. He measured the width of the channel that held the tombstone, and what the diameter would have been. Amazingly, the channel was designed to hold a stone with a width of two feet! And the diameter would have also fitted the stone that he found - thirteen feet! The Bible does say that, " a great stone" was rolled infront of Jesus' tomb. Ron's attention was drawn to the cross hole that was higher than the others. If this was the site of the crucifixion of Jesus, then this would undoubtedly be His cross hole. A square-cut stone had been placed in the cross hole, acting as a plug. It had finger grips on each side, and when Ron removed it he noticed a large crack in the bedrock, extending from the cross hole. It looked to Ron like an earthquake crack, and the Bible does say, in Matthew 27:51, "and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent". One day during the excavation Ron was feeling very down-hearted, as if God could not use him any more. He thought that he must have done something wrong and that God had decided to take him off the job. Whilst sitting at the site and contemplating the circumstances, he heard a voice that said, "God bless you in what you are doing here Ron Wyatt." More than startled, Ron turned to face the man. He was surprised as he wondered how anyone would know his name, and furthermore, Ron had never told anyone else what he was doing there. Ron replied, "Thank you, are you from around here?" and the stranger simply replied, "No." Trying to prompt a conversation, Ron said, "Are you a tourist?" and again the stranger replied, "No." But this time continued to say, "I have come from South Africa and am on my way to the New Jerusalem." Ron was shocked, knowing that the New Jerusalem is a city referred to in the Bible as being in heaven. After the man had left, Ron asked the others in the Garden if they had seen this man. Surprisingly they all answered, "No." but there was only one way in, and one way out of this area, through which the man would have had to have exited. This was a great encouragement for Ron at a time when he needed it most as he felt that God was now still blessing his work.It became too dangerous to continue digging down the cliff face. So, Ron had to dig down at various angles. He soon found himself within a cave system. He worked with a small Arab man who would crawl in through the gaps that were too tiny for Ron to easily enter. The conditions were damp, with plenty of dust and little oxygen. Sometimes Ron had to squeeze himself through the smallest of holes. One day he asked the man to crawl in through a tiny entrance to a cave, as usual. When he had done so, he rushed out with terror in his eyes, screaming, "What's in there! What's in there!" The man hurriedly exited the cave system and refused ever to return. Excitedly, Ron extended the entrance to this chamber and crawled in. He found himself crawling across rocks that were piled up almost to the roof. Growing more and more tired, Ron began to move the rocks aside, in order to reveal what was underneath. He uncovered some dry rotted wooden boards which when he moved aside revealed animal skins. Something shiny was under the animal skins. Moving them aside, Ron uncovered the Table of Shewbread, from the first temple. Continuing to shift aside more rocks and wood, he then found a stone casing. The lid had cracked and had been moved aside. Ron shone his flashlight down through the crack and saw a chest of beaten gold. He knew he was looking at the Ark of the Covenant. Overwhelmed with emotion and suffering from pneumonia Ron passed out for 45 minutes in that chamber. It was January 6th 1982, when Ron made this amazing discovery. He tried to photograph it with a Polaroid, but the photos turned out foggy. He returned with a colonascope, but again the photos turned out foggy. Also in that cave Ron found the seven branch candlestick, a giant sword (with no inscriptions, but possibly Goliath's), an ephod, the wilderness tabernacle, the altar of incense among other things. Ron has returned to the cave on occasion, and since his first visit the cave has been completely tidied up. Ron has been told (although he stresses he does not hear voices, and is not a prophet) that the time is not yet for the world to see this discovery with their own eyes. The time is coming when the inhabitants of the world will have a universal, religious law enforced upon them. This law will force man to break God's law, by penalty of disenfranchisement (being unable to buy or sell, Rev. 13:17). Some time after this law has been passed, God will allow the tables of stone (The 10 Commandments) and a good clear video of the Ark of the Covenant to be put on public display. Whilst in the chamber, Ron noticed a dried, black substance in an earthquake crack in the roof, above the Ark of the Covenant. He noticed that this black substance was also on the lid of the cracked stone casing. Obviously, this substance had dripped from the crack in the roof, and provision had been made for it to land on the Ark of the Covenant, as the stone lid had been cracked and moved aside. Ron wondered what substance could be so sacred, that God made provision for it to land on the Mercy Seat of the Ark of the Covenant. He remembered the earthquake crack at the foot of the cross hole, and suddenly an awesome realization as to what had happened, came over him. Ron traced the earthquake crack, and indeed it was the same crack as the one at the cross hole. The dried black substance in the crack was tested and proved to be blood, apparently the blood of Jesus Christ. The Bible says that when Jesus died there was an earthquake and the rocks were rent (Matt. 27:51). A Roman soldier speared Christ in His side in order to make sure He was dead, and blood and water poured out (John 19:34). Ron discovered that this same blood and water poured down through the earthquake crack and fell upon the Mercy Seat of the Ark of the Covenant. Human cells normally have 46 chromosomes. These are actually 23 pairs of homologous chromosomes. In each pair of chromosomes, one of the pair is from the mother and the other member is from the father. Therefore, 23 chromosomes come from the mother and 23 from the father. In each set of 23, 22 chromosomes are autosomal and one is sex-determining. The sex-determining ones are the X chromosome and the Y chromosome. Females are XX, so they can only contribute an X chromosome to their offspring, whereas males are XY, which allows them to contribute either an X or a Y. If they contribute an X, the child is female, whereas if they contribute a Y, the child is male. The fascinating finding in this blood was that instead of 46 chromosomes, there were only 24. There were 22 autosomal chromosomes, one X chromosome and one Y chromosome. This evidences that the person to whom this blood belonged to had a mother but no human father, because the normal contribution of paternal chromosomes is missing. 1John.5.8, 9: "And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son." What does Daniel 9:24 mean, when it says, "To anoint the Most Holy."? The rest of the verse refers to events that occurred at the cross. Did this also, then occur at Jesus' crucifixion? The Hebrew word for Most Holy is, "qodesh haq-qodeshim". It is used several times in the Old Testament and always refers to the Most Holy place, or furniture in the Most Holy place ie. the Ark of the Covenant. This then must be a prophecy that Christ, on the cross, will anoint the Ark of the Covenant, with His blood.
